Development | breathing

Ones | Practice relaxing as you breathe in a deep and full way, allowing the full experience and pleasure of the life force without trying to control it or do it right.

Twos | As you breathe, bring your attention of focus to your own interior world where your feelings, needs, and sensation reside. Practice following the physical sensation of your breath moving through your body.

Threes | Make your goal one of slowing down and paying attention to what is happening right now as you breathe. Over time, you’ll recognize that there really is not a goal. Breathing simply is!

Fours | As you breathe, pay attention to establishing a balance between your emotions and your relationships with both people and the outside environment. As you breathe, go back and forth between the internal and external in a rhythmic and balanced way.

Fives | When you breathe, breathe beyond your head, neck and shoulders and into your entire body. This will put you in far greater contact with your whole self.

Sixes | Full, rhythmic, and relaxing breathing will reduce your stress, increase your confidence, and help you feel more grounded. Breathe throughout your body, feeling every part of yourself and also establishing contact with the earth through your feet and legs.

Sevens | Breathing throughout your body and not just into your head and the upper part of your torso will counteract your tendency to put all your energy upward. It will also make you far more stable and grounded, less easy to go off balance.

Eights | Soft rhythmic breathing will counteract your hard strength and help transform it into receptive strength, which will also reduce your stress and increase your ability to respond more fully and deeply.

Nines | Breathing more fully and being fully alert when you do so will help you re-inhabit all of your body and enable you to access your strength and personal power.
